12/15/21 WE ARE ENLIGHTENED, NOT INSPIRED

God speaks to us but He does not give us new revelation and He does not enable anyone to reinvent the wheel of Biblical theology, doctrine, revelation.

Have you ever noticed how many of today's "prophets" are proclaiming strange, extra-Biblical ideas, some of which are crude and devilish (aka doctrines of demons)? These so-called prophets also encourage people to listen for the "voice of God" in their own hearts to reveal truth to them.

GOD DOES NOT GIVE REVELATION TODAY.
HE ENLIGHTENS PEOPLE WITH THE REVEALED, WRITTEN WORD OF GOD.

Be careful; the simple, intriguing, and sometimes reasonable new teachings that supposedly come from God are actually lies from hell. God does speak to us and we should listen for and to the voice of God. BUT HE NEVER CONTRADICTS HIS REVEALED WORD AND HE NEVER ADDS TO HIS REVEALED WORD. And if it is in the Bible and understood in the context of the Biblical record, God will not give you special, extra Biblical words for other people.

When God speaks to you, it is not a new word for anyone, either yourself or another person.

Though God does guide our steps, and He also guides our thinking, we are not called, chosen, gifted, anointed, inspired, led in the same sense as the Bible writers.

They wrote infallibly. Even when God speaks to us infallibly, through His word, it does not mean that we hear it infallibly or we understand it infallibly, or that we communicate it infallibly and we certainly should not tell anyone, "I have a word from the Lord for you."

Since we need to take steps to correctly understand God's inerrant written word (because we are flawed and imperfect people) how much less should we put our own personal understanding and declarations on the same level of Divine revelation as it is in the Bible?

Many of those today, who claim to be proclaiming God's truth are either adding to the word of God, with new and twisted doctrines or they are taking away from the word of God because they are denying or twisting Biblical truth to fit their doctrinal stance.
