God has told us that Christians will be persecuted. We see believers around the world suffering and even dying for their faith, Yet somehow, Americans think they will not suffer or be persecuted as Christians. They erroneously believe that they are exempt. They have a false hope in a false doctrine, but one day they will hear God say to them, "Depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never new you."

They have somehow confused The Old Ship of Zion (the Church) with the Ship of State (Humanism). They work hard at fitting the doomed vessel and trusting in the useless political, social, educational, economic life boats and hoping that their torn and water logged PDF (life jackets) will save them from the terror that is coming.

Being a Christian will not save you from trial, oppression, suffering, persecution, martyrdom, but it will save you from sin and Divine judgment. There are untold blessings that attend salvation, but the real hope of a believer is eternal life.

THOSE WHO LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY WILL BE PERSECUTED

I am concerned about many of the folks who have heard about Christ but have neglected Him for most (if not all) of their lives but in these very troublesome days they are beginning to realize they need God in their lives. However, they will grasp onto any religious flotsam drifting nearby, and therefore they will be tossed by every wind of doctrine and carried away by the false hope offered by false teachers. It will be like watching boats trying to cross the bar after they ignored the warnings and signs of impending danger.

The storm is here and mounting daily, and still folks wait. I think about neighbors who are waiting, but will find the door shut when they finally realize how bad things have gotten. They will have neglected their need and hardened their hearts until there will be sudden destruction, and that without remedy.

I write this as another warning to those who are not yet on board the Old Ship of Zion (those who have not yet cried out to Jesus, "Save me" as they are sinking in the raging storm).

If someone offered a solution to poverty, civil upheaval, crime, racism, addictions and trafficking, folks would flock to it.

Christ offers deliverance from sin and sinning, and eternal life to all who trust and follow Jesus as Lord of their lives, yet very few people are choosing to turn from sin, self and Secularism.

As folks live in darkness and therefore walk in darkness, they draw people, they lead people, especially young people in their wake. Adults better wake up to the fact that they are sacrificing the children in order to stroke their own carnal, hellish desires. It is also true that those adults are resisting and rejecting God and His rule over their lives. The result is eternal separation from God.

IT IS TIME FOR GAME PLAYERS TO HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS.

My POP. I just saw a home movie from MCHS from the late thirties that included a clip with my daddy in the Industrial Arts (wood working) Class. Wow, what a shock to suddenly see my dad, my buddy. He gave me a good home, he gave me the opportunity to love and follow Jesus (even before he ever came to know Christ, as I was told toward the end of his life).

He gave me his name. I never wanted to hurt daddy, I never wanted to betray his love or besmirch his name or embarrass him in anyway. Daddy was always my encourager, cheer leader. I love him still, though he has been gone from us for 24 years. Yes, I still cry because I miss him.

Be careful, be vigilant not to separate yourself from your family, from the people who love you the most. If someone cuts you out of their life, or if someone is toxic and dangerous to you or your family, the separation you suffer will not be your fault. But make sure that you are not the one who poisons the well or inflicts unnecessary hurt on those who love you.

Success is measured in faithfulness, not in human terms or carnal accomplishments.
Doing the will of God is our success and this brings glory to God.

It is not her birthday or her anniversary.

It is how I feel everyday, and can't tell her often enough. Martha is a super wonderful servant of God, as a wife, mother and church member. She does what a homemaker is supposed to do, with joy and vision because she loves Jesus and others.

This is basic but it is not insignificant. She keeps my house clean, she cares for me, when I am well and when I am sick, without complaint or negative attitude. I try to tell her to take it easy and not be so busy, attentive, self denying, but it falls on deaf ears. She is a faithful loving child of God, when she is doing physically well and when she isn't doing well. I try to be a good, sensitive, considerate husband, but she outshines me in this areas.

Through the years I have made choices (in following God's leading) that have been hard, demanding, misunderstood and scoffed by some folks, but Martha has not only gone along with me, she has been my biggest encouragement and fellow warrior.

She has been a loving, faithful, self-denying wife and mother. She has always put her family (and her service in the church) ahead of her own comfort, plans. She supported and participated fully in the discipline of our children. She taught the girls what it means to be a dedicated wife and mother and homemaker. She has trained up our children in the way they should have gone; she taught them manners, academics, social graces, Christian ethics, spiritual principles. She instilled personal responsibility, accountability, sensitivity, affection, respect, honor, humility and so much more.

I sometimes make a wreck of my rec-room, (gym, study, retreat closet, hideaway) and won't let her straighten it up 'cause I am afraid she will disappear in the disaster I have made. I have not always been able to give her the most conducive or roomy accommodations or the best tools for her many tasks, but that has not kept her from accomplishing the near impossible. Whether we had pets or not; whether we lived in a van or a trailer or a partially finished house; whether it was in the mountains or on the beach, in the city or in the boonies; whether we had electricity or not; whether we had running water or not; whether the wolf was at the door or not, Martha has always provided us with a clean home, great meals, clean and presentable clothes. Difficult circumstances, limited time, inconvenience, personal desires have not thwarted her from doing what she should do.

I still, to this day, have a home that is pleasant and comfortable and always presentable because Martha sees her life as wife, mother, grandmother, Christian, as an offering to God. Self serving and laziness are foreign to her. Not only does she do her "job" (live her life) adequately, she does it superbly. She has dreamed dreams with me and been willing to struggle with me in the most difficult times, without hesitation or bad attitude.

There is much, much, much more I could say, as tribute to Martha Ann, but I know she will say that it is nothing more than she should do as a wife and mother. Yes baby, but the thing is, you do it and you do it selflessly.

Our JOURNEY with God is a series of us PULLING UP STAKES or BREAKING CAMP, since He constantly leads us onward (Ex.17:1). His leading us is for the purpose of training us in the life of faith.

Remember, we are saved by grace through faith, we are children of God by faith, those who are justified live by faith and only those who walk in His light are forgiven and cleansed from all sin.

God leads us through trials (testing). We either learn and grow or we faint and fail. Even in our fainting and failing God uses our failures to teach us, provided we listen and obey. But if we refuse to learn, to submit, to follow, God still moves forward in His plan. Though He graciously gives us opportunity to get in step with Himself, He does not allow our resistance and rejection to thwart His plan.

If we follow Him faithfully through the wilderness, He will bring us to the point of entering the Promised Land of milk and honey, the land of fullness and victory. If we do not trust and obey, we will die in the wilderness, never finding the promise and fullness of victory. The best we can expect, if we drag our feet, is to live a vacillating life of cycling from rebellion to retribution to repentance to restoration, hoping that our lives end on an upward turn.

Bad theology blinds and cripples folks by making Biblical terms repugnant to them, such as, perfect, pure, holy, righteous. This causes them to automatically shut their minds to God's enlightenment and deliverance from sin and defeat.

Having been conditioned to reject the possibility of Divine deliverance from sin, from all sin, they recoil at words which do not agree with their theology, even when the words are written in the Bible. Rather than accepting what the Bible says about salvation from sin they say that the Bible does not mean what it says, then they proceed to "EXPLAIN WHAT GOD REALLY MEANT," rather than what the Bible clearly says. Instead of accepting the preponderance of clearly stated evidence in dozens, scores, hundreds of verses they mistakenly think that someone's interpretation of a few select verses (out of context) actually contradicts and clarifies Biblical revelation.

Note, those who reject the many verses I cite as proof in my presentation of Biblical doctrines will often refer to the teachings of some man or belief system, which cites a couple of verses contrary to the preponderance of Biblical evidence, which contradicts their position.

They usually misrepresent the doctrine I am addressing and insist on straw man arguments and misinterpretations and faulty definitions. Usually. when the person hears the many verses I cite, they proceed to tell me that those verses do not mean what they say, and then they go on to explain those verses as they dance around the obvious and abundant evidence, which is contrary to their position.

AS A RESULT OF THEIR PREJUDICE AGAINST CERTAIN BIBLICAL TRUTHS, THEY WILL NOT EVEN EXAMINE OR DISCUSS THEIR PET BELIEFS.

For instance, there is a clear and abundant Biblical teaching about...

• Believer's (Atonement, Biblical or Christian) Perfection.
• Cleansing and deliverance from all sin.
• Having a pure heart and living a holy life.
• New Testament truth of Christian non-violence (Christians do not take other human life.)

For the record: in salvation there is neither male nor female, however in Biblical places of authority (especially home and church), God equipped and placed the male as the human head of the wife, the home and the local church. A woman is not intended to have authority over a man in either the home or the church or ministries.

Sometimes there is no husband or father in the home (due to death, disability or desertion). Obviously this should be the rare, extreme situation. When there is no man to lead the family, then the mother needs to take on a greater responsibility. This is not the only issue or principle to consider, but it does point out that there are exceptions to God's perfect will.

Sometimes there is not a godly, mature man available to lead a church or perform a certain ministry. Again, God occasionally uses a woman to do a work that should be done by men, but only because there is not a male candidate.

I know that there have been godly women who have served in these situations, in an humble, obedient spirit. Sometimes the person with the greater knowledge or greater skill is a female. It is the exception rather than the rule.

Females do have gifts, abilities, skills, knowledge, wisdom which need to be made available to families and churches, but this does not change God's revelation of male leadership in the family, the local church and ministries.

Great harm has come to the Christian ministry and home when females seek or usurp male leadership. However, there are legitimate channels for godly, mature Christian women to serve and minister, without challenging God's plan for home and church.

There have been many false prophets come on the scene in the last few decades, both male and female. I am constantly warning folks about false doctrines, false teachers, false ministries. Sadly we have seen males in our society readily move toward female leadership and authority and instruction. This has been a trap and destroyer of God's plan for home and church.

I don't spend my time attacking Christian women who seek to serve God. Many have done a valuable service, whether in the Biblical order or in an emergency situation. But females must never seek the place of leadership over a male.

This is not saying that all males are smarter, more gifted, better equipped than all females. But God's plan for leadership in the home and church cannot be sidestepped or rejected without home and church suffering.

I have watched homes and churches relinquish male authority to females for decades and the results are devastating. The home and church need strong, gifted, submissive women to fulfill their calling according to God's revelation. In fact, the home and church needs strong, gifted and humble men of God who also are submissive to God, His word, His plan. Remember, pastors (men) are servants, pastors (men) are to be under authority. But Biblically, pastors are to be men.

A man of God will have godly, servant traits as well as gifts and leadership strengths. They will not lord it over the family or the church. But God's plan is male leadership. It is time for Christians to yield to God's plan.
