If there was going to be or if there was such a momentous event as Christ fearing or fleeing the cross then...
It should have been revealed as foreordained by God.
It should have been foretold by the prophets of the Old Testament.
It should have been addressed by Christ.
It should have been clearly, unequivocally stated in the Gospels.
It should have been explained by the Apostles.

Remember, the Bible does not say that Jesus asked for "the cross" to pass from Him or death pass from Him. Such a statement is an interpretation, it is not a revelation and it actually conflicts with all Bible revelation concerning Christ's Sacrifice.

Jesus asked that He would be saved from death in the Garden and the Father heard and granted His prayer.
