12/22/21 ABANDON SELF LOVE, IN THE NAME OF PERFECT LOVE

12/22/21 ABANDON SELF LOVE, IN THE NAME OF PERFECT LOVE

As I said, God gives us a restart, not a redo. We can be forgiven of our past, we are not always delivered from the damages of our past.

LIKEWISE, we can have a new beginning with the folks who have robbed us, deceived us, abused us, blasphemed us, but we cannot recover the relationships, the experiences, the love, the joy that they stole from us in the past.

They chose to hurt us, for some sick, devilish reason. They not only succeeded, but even if they ever repent and surrender their heart and life to Jesus, their evil self-centered actions damaged us and others, and robbed people of the most beautiful and precious moments of life. Repentance on their part does not restore those lost treasures. However, if they truly repent, then we, as true followers of Christ, cannot hold their destructive past against them, anymore than other Christians can hold our past against us.

Not all accounts are balanced in this present life. We suffer loses, brought about by our own actions or someone else's actions. If we focus on the loses, we will find that our loses stand between us and others or between us and God. But remember, Jesus said (in reference to offending children), offenses must come, but woe unto those by whom they come. The repentant thief on the cross found forgiveness and eternal life, but he wasted a lifetime serving his own selfish purposes.

A life wasted on self includes a life without God, a life of missed opportunities, a life of hurting others.

DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE, EXPECTING SALVATION TO CORRECT ALL OF YOUR OFFENSES. A repentant sinner does go to heaven, but many of our lost opportunities are lost forever, along with those we have used and abused.

I realize that this truth is not comforting to the self oriented or those who may come to Christ after satisfying their own worldly desires. This is meant to be a warning to younger people and a call to those who have chosen self love over God love and brotherly love.

In the name of Perfect Love, stop the madness of self love.
