07/08/21 CHILDREN and YOUNG PEOPLE, TAKE NOTICE

07/08/21 CHILDREN and YOUNG PEOPLE, TAKE NOTICE

Jesus the ideal Person, at every age, for every age, in Whose steps we are to follow, gave us a model to follow, as children, youth and adults. Read and meditate on these passages. In fact, memorize them.

JESUS THE MODEL CHILD AND YOUNG PERSON
Luke 2:40
40 And the child (Jesus) grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Luke 2:52
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

START EARLY AND STAY FAITHFUL
1 Timothy 4:12-16
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

JOHN THE BAPTIST IS AN EXAMPLE
Luke 1:80
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

WE ARE COMMANDED TO FOLLOW IN CHRIST'S STEPS
1 Peter 2:18-25
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
