06/14/21 SPEAKING CLEARLY
Using theological terms is dangerous, when they are used carelessly or inaccurately or without Divine authority.
Sometimes technical theological terms confuse the truth of God rather than clarify the word of God.
Sometimes the words are Biblical words that are used in a way that is
inconsistent with the Biblical usage and sometimes they are words
assigned by men to supposedly explain or define what God has said.
Biblical terms should be defined by Biblical meaning, but often Biblical terms are altered to fit a specific human intention.
Biblical truths are often associated with existing
and legitimate terms (theological or technical), however the
association is often flawed or errant, such as Sovereign, Sovereignty, Predestination, Election, Decrees.
Biblical truths are often associated with man made terms (theological and technical) and given the weight of Divine authority, such as Infralapsarian, Supralapsarian, Sublapsarian, Transubstantiation, Consubstantiation.
I am not saying that these terms should not ever be used, but I am saying that the use of terms, whether Biblical or extra-Biblical, must be understood in the light of Biblical truth, uncluttered by human design or human devices. God's word and God's words are inspired and authoritative.
