06/07/21 TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY

06/07/21 TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY

While I was a Bible College student in the late 1960s, I was getting some work done to my car. While waiting I started a conversation with another man waiting for his car. He told me about his work (I think he was a builder). When the conversation turned in my direction I told him that I am also in construction. Then I said,

"I'm building a bridge... (pause)... Across the divide,
I'm building it strong and I'm building it wide.
God gave me the plan... (I think I held out my pocket Bible, which I had with me all the time)...
And I'm following through,
I'll make it somehow, brother how about you?"

Obviously the words were from a popular gospel song of the day, but since I did not usually sing, I just quoted the words to plant a seed and open a door.

I would change the line to say, "I'll make it BY GRACE, brother how about you?"
