06/04/21 GOD'S ARK OF SAFETY

We had an amazing amount of rain this morning. Made me think of Noah, his message, ministry and his neighbors. This is not a perfectly constructed poem, but I hope it conveys my thoughts. I did listen to several covers of "DIDN'T IT RAIN."

The Old Ship of Zion is not the boat you want to miss.

Folks should have started to worry,
When the beasts started to scurry,
Lions and tigers and sloths,
Apes and snails and moths,
Rattlers and rabbits and dogs,
Chickens and horses and hogs,
Rhinos and hippos and crocs,
The eagle, koala and fox,
From mountains, beaches and plains,
Skeeters, gators and cranes.

But Noah's lost neighbors stood there,
Frozen with a dumbfounded stare,
Though they had often been warned,
Noah's message was scorned,
They still had no fear.
As their end drew so near.
Folks continued to do what they always had done,
'Till the clouds were so thick that they blackened the sun.
The rain started falling,
Still they mocked God's calling.

Soon their cries turned to curses,
And they dropped bulging purses.
Their loved ones were crying,
Then they were dying.
Their sin was exposed,
And the door was now closed,
They would go to their death rejecting salvation,
To their very last breath, choosing damnation

Then the clouds split asunder,
With lightening and thunder,
Rivers swelled up with their banks overflowing,
Valleys were filled 'til the mountains quit showing.
After God's admonitions His judgment came down,
Those who reject Him are surely to drown.
As Noah was safe in the ark from the flood,
Jesus will save you by trusting His blood.
