08/12/21 DIFFERENT "LAW" SYSTEMS IN THE BIBLE

08/12/21 DIFFERENT "LAW" SYSTEMS IN THE BIBLE

MORAL LAW
The Moral Law, unchanging laws relating to our relationship with God and men. These laws transcend the Law which God gave to Moses.

MOSAIC LAWS
Ceremonial, Dietary and Civil Laws, which God gave to Moses concerning Israel.

LAW OF SIN AND DEATH
The Law of Sin and Death, which is the corrupted influence of the Sinful Nature, aka, The Old Man, The Carnal Mind, The Double Mind is inherited by all humans from our fathers, all the way back to Adam (except Jesus, since He is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit). We are born with a Human Nature which we have throughout this life and into the life to come, and a Sinful Nature, from which God will deliver believers when they trust Him for Entire Sanctification.

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS
aka Royal Law, Law of Love, Law of Liberty

When a Christian has been purified from the Old Man, the Double Mind, then the Christian is ruled by another Law. It is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. This is the Law of Love. If we love God, we will keep His commandments. Love is the fulfilling of the Moral Law.

Divine Nature
At the the time of our conversion we receive Divine Nature (the nature be in the image of God). The Sinful Nature and the Divine Nature are in conflict, leaving choice to the Human Nature. However, God provides deliverance from the Sinful Nature, through the redemptive work of Christ. Believers can ask for the heart purifying cleansing of Jesus and God will purify them, even as Christ is pure.

Believers still have a free will (inherent to our Human Nature) making personal choices. The Will, working in conjunction with the Reason, Conscience, Emotion and Desire, enabled by the salvific work of the Holy Spirit, has the ability to choose right rather than wrong. The devil tempts the believer, from the outside rather than from within the believer. The sanctified believer has been cleansed of carnal desire, therefore there is no internal battle between the human self and the carnal self. Being filled and purified by the Holy Spirit, the believer now has the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus seeking to live a life that keeps God's commandment and does those things that are pleasing to God.

The battle that is depicted in Romans Chapter Seven is over for the Entirely Sanctified believer, since The Law of Sin and Death has been removed by the blood, the truth and the Spirit. The law of Sin and Death is then defeated by The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus as long as the believer chooses to walk in the Spirit.
It is the decision of the believer to either walk in God's light or to walk in darkness. Adam was given a choice, but he chose to sin, though he did not have a sinful nature at the time of his first sin. Likewise, believers are still able to choose sin (outward temptation), even when though they have been cleansed from all sin (inner corruption).

We keep a right relationship with God as we walk in His light. Not only are we responsible for keeping ourselves in God's light, we are responsible for keeping ourselves in the Love of God. We keep ourselves, as believers, in the love of God by keeping His commandments.

Though people will tell you that such teaching is "works salvation," the fact is that it is salvation by grace, which works and is the very truth of Jesus Himself. Submission and obedience to God is not works salvation because Jesus taught it and requires it.

It is freeing and fulfilling to be ruled by Love, because love is the fulfilling of the moral law of God.
