08/14/21 GOD DOESN'T WANT YOUR LEAV'NS, HE WANTS YOUR FIRSTFRUITS

Giving to God is not simply an obligation or even an opportunity. Giving to God is an act of faith (trust).
We give to God from the top of our supply (abundance or poverty) because He deserves our offerings and gifts and because we trust God with our provision and our lives. We don't wait to see what we will have left after we have paid all of our bills or gotten all of our wants. We give to God first.

This is true of our treasure, time, talent. More than likely your church has more mission than it has "muscle" or means to accomplish its mission. Sometimes it looks like the work must get done by "elves" who show up in the middle of the night. Actually it is usually the pastor and a few servants of God, seeking to please the Lord and bless the body of believers. This is why we must Trust Jesus, in order to do the mundane as well as the impossible and unimaginable.

We all have needs and responsibilities. There are schedules that must be followed. But we also have discretionary time to spend on personal projects. There is nothing wrong with personal projects. In fact, a really in-tune body of Christ is the best way to get those projects taken care of. However, if the work of God waits until everyone gets their personal projects taken care of, God's work will not get done.

We don't want the kingdom work of God to be put behind less important work.
We don't want to stand before God, having put our own projects ahead of His.

Don't try to squeeze God's work into your schedule.
Don't wait until you have spare time for God.
Don't make others do what you should do.
Don't be a spectator rather than a team player.
Don't wait until you are recruited and be sure to be an early volunteer.
