08/05/21 YOU CAN'T BE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME

08/05/21 YOU CAN'T BE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME

I posted my article on May 6, 2021. I re-post it because I believe this truth cannot be ignored without major losses, because not being Biblical in our view of SAINTS and SINNERS skews our view, understanding and experience of salvation.

05/05/21 YOU CAN'T BE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME

The N.T. (KJV) refers to "sinners" (those who are sinful, wicked, evil) 32 times; it never applies the term, "sinners" to believers as actively sinning against God or as presently resisting God's will, but only as having been sinners who were saved from sin.

Only once (1 Timothy 1:15), does it seem like the term, "sinner" was applicable to a believer, but in that instance Paul is pointing out that he is an example of the sinners Jesus came to save. Paul was not claiming to be a sinner currently, but that he was chief of those who had been saved from being a sinner.

The N.T. (KJV) refers to believers 60 times, as "saints" (holy ones). The lost, the sinful, sinners are NEVER referred to as, "saints."

But even if we allow the possibility that Paul's "chief of sinners" comment designated Him as an active sinner, God's designation of believers in the N.T. as "saints," still out numbers the IDEA (not the fact) of God referring to believers as, "sinners." Believers are called, "saints," 60 times more often than they are supposedly referred to as sinners, 60 times more often (60 to 1). In reality, it is 60 to 0, since the word sinners does not apply to the actual saved life of Paul.

Being a sinner does not preclude the possibility of becoming a saint. Having been a sinner does not preclude the possibility of becoming a saint. But a saint is not a sinner and a sinner is not a saint.

We should not mix God's message by confusing Biblical terms. Saints and Sinners are not one and the same.
Remember that John drew a clear line between being a sinner and being born of God (a saint).

1 John 2:29
(29) If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 John 3:3-10
(3) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
(4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
(5) And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
(6) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
(7) Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
(10) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1 John 5:1-5
(1) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
(2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
(3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
(4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
(5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:18-19
(18) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
(19) And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
