10/11/21 MONDAY PROVERB (this was from yesterday)

10/11/21 MONDAY PROVERB (this was from yesterday)

Proverbs 14:16
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

A great way to start the week.
This proverb starts by acknowledging the wise man. The wise man fears, honors, reverential awe, has a proper respect for truth, Divine judgments, wisdom, instruction, counsel, justice, righteousness. And because of this fear the wise man, the man who is wise turns from, rejects, avoids that which is evil.
It is not as much a fear of evil as it is a fear of doing evil. Remember, Christians are instructed to work out our own salvation with "fear and trembling." God instructs us to avoid evil (the evil one) and He warns us about evil.

We are taught to pray for deliverance from evil (the evil one).
The evil one (devil) goes about as a lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Evil is not something to play with or take lightly.
Evil leadership, thoughts, words actions will destroy the person who does not depart from evil.

On the other hand, the fool does not humbly recognize the dangers of sin or his own vulnerabilities. When faced with a threat or the need to change his ways, he rages against both God and God's messenger, then proceeds boldly into the evil, the sin, God's judgement, fully confident in his own way.
