10/30/21 FORGET WHAT IS PAST, TAKE HOLD OF WHAT WILL BE

10/30/21 FORGET WHAT IS PAST, TAKE HOLD OF WHAT WILL BE

The world is on the cusp of total collapse and America is now the world leader in chaos.

Obviously God can do anything He chooses to do and extend mercy whenever it pleases Him, but if you are expecting a Hollywood ending for this evil world system, you are in for a rude awakening, or, more likely your happy dream state will morph into an endless, living nightmare. After all, we got into today's idiocracy by delusional thinking and numbskull trust in enemies of the cross.

This world system is hurtling headstrong, headlong, irretrievably into devilish destruction. When the imagined "light" of people is actually darkness, how great is that darkness.

Instead of straightening pictures on the wall of a house, which is totally engulfed in a hellish inferno, spend these precious moments rescuing the victims.
Instead of mourning Caesar, "Lift up your head (be elated), for your redemption (Jesus) draws near."
Instead of eulogizing and aggrandizing the darkness that is passing, spend your time embracing and exalting the light that is dawning.

To mourn and cling to the rotting corpse of God's enemy is to distance one's self from God and His plan.

It is counter productive to mourn the loss of a doomed and decaying enemy of God, while simultaneously proclaiming hope, faith, love, joy, peace in the rising Sun of Righteousness.

Don't turn people's attention to the loss of temporal, illusive desires, but rather let your lips give God glory for the rising hope and reality of eternal deliverance.

Let it be known by others that we did not come to praise Caesar, but to bury him. Even better, we come to welcome the returning King of kings. We can't mourn the loss of evil and praise the coming of Righteousness at the same time.

Remember, Jesus said,
Matthew 6:33-34
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
dlg note... Speaking of basic needs, Jesus said that our first pursuit should be the, "the kingdom of God and His righteousness."

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
dlg note... Don't worry about tomorrow, God is our protector and provider. God is the giver of every good and perfect gift. God gives us everything that pertains to life and godliness. God sometimes allows great trial, but He never leaves us or forsakes us and all things WORK TOGETHER for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (remember Job). Don't project yourself into future disaster and don't allow future trials to absorb you energy. Neither long for the past nor fear the future. TRUST THE LORD.

We cannot be focused on this world and on Jesus at the same time.
Don't worry about tomorrow's problems. It will darken your view and rob you of your vision.
Look to Jesus, the Author and finisher of faith. He will see you through your difficult days ahead, but not if you are focused on what was.

Sinners need to see and hear from people who see and follow the Light rather than those who cry about the loss of a dark and dying world.

Philippians 3:7-14
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
dlg note... Even the advantageous, good, admirable things of life can be a waste and a trap. Nothing is as important as a right relationship with Christ.

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
dlg note... It is our own responsibility to recognize the worthlessness of everything, when contrasted with Christ. Putting everything under the Lordship of Christ is essential if we want to gain the excellency of the knowledge of Christ. Paul not only surrendered everything to Christ, he counted his earthly advantages to be refuse, waste, filth, in order that he might win, gain Christ.

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
dlg note... I discard the treasures of this world as filth in order to be found in Christ through faith in Christ, with the righteousness of faith.

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
dlg note... I gladly cast off the things of this world in order to KNOW Christ and the POWER of HIS RESURRECTION, and the FELLOWSHIP of HIS SUFFERINGS, which comes by being CONFORMABLE TO HIS DEATH.

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
dlg note... Denying the world and the things of the world, dying to my Old Man (my Carnal nature), presenting my life (body, soul and spirit) completely to God as a living sacrifice is essential to attaining the First Resurrection (the resurrection from among the dead).

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
dlg note... I have not yet been GLORIFIED; I have not yet received my resurrection body (the perfection that is unattainable in this present life), but I am active in pursuing the spiritual calling and provision that Jesus makes available to me here and now (the perfection that is attainable in this life, see vs.15).

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
dlg note... Though I have not yet received the glorified (resurrected) life that God offers, I am single-mindedly committed to pursue, seize the life of victory, in this present world as well as the resurrection from the dead, which is provided by Christ. I forget the passing pleasures and advantages of this world and reach for the victory in Christ.

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
dlg note... I press, race toward, stretch out, in pursuit of God's calling me to victory in this present evil world and in the world to come.

We do not lionize or cling to the past.
Ecclesiastes 7:10
10 Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.

We do not build on a fickle future.
Proverbs 27:1
1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

But we can and we should press forward in the will of God.
2 Corinthians 4:14-18
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Timothy 4:2-8
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
