03/29/21 IT IS ALREADY HERE

MEMORY FROM 8 YEARS AGO

I had several friends wish me and others a "Happy Easter," to which I usually responded "Happy Resurrection to you too." On one occasion I took the initiative, and said to a friend, "Let me tell you the good news." He asked, "What it is," and I said, "He Is Risen." My friend said, "That's not until Sunday." I said, "NO, it is today, He is already risen. He has been risen for 2,000 years."

Sadly, the "Easter Story," at best, is a religious event that fits snugly into a specific weekend. But "The Resurrection" is a once accomplished reality that lasts forever, miraculously transforming lives and altering destinies. It has nothing to do with rabbits, the pagan goddess Ishtar or decorated eggs. It is God (in Christ Jesus) having died for man's sins, rising from the dead physically and giving eternal life to whosoever will believe on Him. It is Christ reconciling rebellious men to God. It is Christ transforming us by His indwelling Spirit and conforming us to His own image.

 

So, I share with you, HE IS RISEN.
