01/31/21 GOD IS IN CONTROL AND HE IS A CONSUMING FIRE

01/31/21 GOD IS IN CONTROL AND HE IS A CONSUMING FIRE

Understand this, God IS in control, and He is angry with usurpers trying to be God by enacting their own will, contrary to the will of God. A day of reckoning is coming, when God will end man's power play, remove the wannabe insurrectionists and judge each person according to his deeds, good and evil.

Believe on Christ. Repent. Quit sinning. Follow Jesus.

(I realize most folks won't read all of these passages or all of some of these passages. However, they are very pointed and powerful. I hope you take time to read and consider these great truths, or at least come back to them.)

(God will judge all men, high and low).
Psalms 62:9-12
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God.
12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongs mercy: for thou renders to every man according to his work.

(God will judge the righteous [the saved] and the wicked [the unsaved]).
Isaiah 3:10-11
10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

(God's judgment will bring curses to those who trust in human ability and will bring blessing to those who trust in Divine deliverance).
Jeremiah 17:5-10
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

(Those who follow Jesus will be rewarded and those who fail to follow Jesus will be judged).
Matthew 16:24-27
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

(Christians serve God and will be rewarded).
2 Corinthians 5:9-10
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(We will be rewarded according to our works on earth).
Galatians 6:7-10
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

(Usurpers in the Old Testament did not escape God's judgment and neither will folks today: God is a consuming fire).
Hebrews 12:25-29
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.

(Let me finish my list of passages with this one, which I shared recently in another post).
Romans 2:5-11
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasures up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
