11/14/21 WHO CARES WHAT TIME IT IS?
11:00 until (I would tell you, but you wouldn't believe me)
Service started at 11 am and lasted UNTIL the Holy Spirit dismissed us.
Twenty-five of us gathered (two in Raliegh on ZOOM) for exhortation, singing, testifying, praying. Seven of our adults and three of our young people ministered to us in music.
SET UP - LEISURELY MEAL.
All 23 present stayed for fellowship meal. This is something we have done for years, when we had the facility. Folks are welcome to stay if they like. Folks bring their own, but we have enough for guests. It is really informal. Eat, talk, laugh with friends and family. The youth have a great time together.
LET'S RELAX.
Sometime around 2:45 we set up for music jam and community sing time. Our 7 guitarists (4 adults and 3 teens) started playing and other folks gathered around to sing simple worship songs and choruses.
4:45 - 8:30 FIRE-PIT, HOT DOGS AND MARSHMALLOWS.
While some of the more serious musicians worked on chords, most of the young folks (along with some adults) went to our fire-pit to enjoy a campfire, food and games.
Around 7:00 someone brought pizza for folks.
Most folks could stay until close to 9:00.
AT THE CLOSE OF A BEAUTIFUL LORD'S DAY.
Then Martha and I sat at the campfire for a quiet 30 minutes or so, reflecting, praising and looking forward to many more events and adventures with our wonderful church family.
It is good to have a place to really "have church" again.
