11/12/21 WHATEVER HE IS OR HE IS NOT, HE IS NOT AN INNOCENT VICTIM
Regardless of the actions, intentions or illegalities of the so-called protestors (actually rioters, insurrectionists, domestic terrorists), and whether it was or was not self defense, Rittenhouse (boy or man) had no business going into that volatile, riotous, violent situation, especially armed and ready for deadly force. He swallowed the propaganda, which says that private citizens should take up arms against others and take the law into their own hands.
I am sorry for him, but he had no business putting himself in the position of entering into armed conflict. He could have stayed home, he could have gone to Disney World, or he could have been in a Bible study that Wednesday night instead of volunteering and traveling to a hotbed of chaos and hatred, in order to play civil warrior, wielding a deadly weapon in a situation that the devil had orchestrated, supposedly in the name of social justice.
If you deliberately insert yourself as an armed participant into a race war or in a confrontation with anarchists (especially if you expect to face off with blood thisty rioters) then you are either asking to suffer violence or expecting to use deadly force on someone else. In that case you are NOT AN INNOCENT victim.
There was no excuse for a 17 year old boy (or any private citizen) going into the midst of an angry, out of control mob of property destoryng, law breaking, blood thirsty trouble makers. This is true for the person who is not a Bible believer and especially true for the person who claims to live by New Testament standards. No matter your view of law enforcement, military or Second Amendment rights, 17 year olds should not draft themselves into armed conflict.
It is too bad that Rittenhouse was impressed by the many U.S. guntoters who boldly claim that they will stand against anyone who is destroying the American way of life and undermining our freedom, but in fact they themselves have refused to resist all of the enemies of freedom, family and faith, but instead shoot off their mouths. This is true of John Q Citizen, and sadly our Law Enforcement and U.S. Military, who have taken an oath to protect America against all enemies, domestic and foreign, have been neutralized by a broken government system.
Technically it may be argued that Rittenhouse killed in
self defense, but morally he was as guilty as his attackers. He drafted
himself, he deployed himself, he armed himself with a lethal weapon.
He did not stay home or go to a place of safety, where there was law and order, sanity, normalcy.
He did not go as a reporter, armed only with camera and recording equipment.
He did not go as a first aid worker, prepared to help those who might be injured or wounded by violence and crazed hoodlums.
He did not go as a witness for Jesus, seeking to win the lost to Christ.
He did not go as part of a legitimate peace keeping force.
He did go to help store owners protect their STUFF, even if it meant using deadly force.
He did take a gun.
It does not matter what other intentions he had (even good ones).
It does not matter that those who attacked him were evil, or mentally unbalanced.
HE HAD NO BUSINESS THERE
As we have seen across our country, even the police are not protecting
property or even property owners. No boy has a right or responsibility
to set himself up as an armed defender of the citizenry.
We may be bothered that there was rioting in the streets.
We may be bothered that Law Enforcement was not given the support they needed to stop the lawless thugs in the streets.
We may be bothered that crazed enemies of society threatened to kill Rittenhouse.
However, none of that is a valid reason for a 17 year old boy (or other private citizen) to appoint and deploy himself into a violent riot.
