05/06/21 GOD'S TRUTH CONCERNING FULL SALVATION
If someone has led you to believe that God does not make His children entirely holy, thoroughly righteous, totally sin free (sinless), pure even as Christ is pure, then you need to read and believe the Bible instead of the doctrines of men.
God has provided only one way of salvation and all sinners must come to God through His Son, Jesus. God not only enlightens and convicts the sinner, He enables the contrite sinner to believe on Christ. We have all chosen (by our free will) to sin against God and we are all accountable for our willful transgressions.
Adam, by his own free will, sinned and as a result he has transmitted internal spiritual corruption (Biblically called the Old Man, The Flesh, Double Mindedness, Evil Heart of Unbelief, Root of Bitterness, Sin, The Carnal Mind and commonly called The Sinful Nature) to all of his offspring, which results in all of his offspring choosing to sin when they are given the option. Mankind retained the "freedom to want" but lost the "ability to do." As a result, all have chosen to sin. As as a willful sinner a person may want to be right with God (as the Holy Spirit enlightens and convicts them of their sins) but no one is able to effectively choose the way of salvation without God's enabling. However, God's enabling makes it possible to do the right thing, it does not force us to do the right thing. God's enabling grace is an offered gift, not an irresistibly, forced action. Not only are we then free to accept the gift of God, we are still free to resist and reject God's gift.
God does not want anyone to sin and God does not want anyone separated from Him by their sins, therefore God gave His Son as a sacrifice for sin in order to provide salvation for all men who will trust Christ as their Savior. But God's deliverance is an ongoing work, experience, life. Salvation is not a step, it is a walk; it is not a moment, but a life. The Bible does not simply refer to having been born again (of the Spirit, of God) but BEING born, as a present, ongoing reality. It speaks, not only of the person who was born of God but also as the person who IS born of God.
We still have a free will after we are saved. We can choose to sin or remain faithful to God. And we are enabled to obey His commands and do that which is pleasing in His sight. God's salvation does not negate or override our free will.
The following is an article I wrote concerning the fact that God makes us righteous and upright and enables us to do righteousness. I have done similar articles concerning, the subjects of holy and holiness, pure and purity, good and goodness, perfect and perfection. Still, people tell me that we cannot be holy, pure, perfect in love, good, righteous or upright. Now would be a good time to just believe God rather than all of those who teach and preach against God's revealed word.
